Autumnal enjoyment: Trio Bell'Arte with grand piano, violin and cello

Pianotrio nr. 2 in bes, op. 5
Noé Inui Vassilis Varvaresos Benedikt Kloeckner
  • I. Largo
  • II. Ritornell
  • III. Allegro con brio
First acquaintance: Who still knows Robert Volkmann? Nowadays a forgotten composer, but during his life admired and applauded by greats like Liszt, Brahms and Wagner. His Second Piano Trio is one of his best compositions. Quite right that Trio Bell'Arte removes this forgotten masterpiece from under the dust
Pianotrio nr. 1 in g,, 'Trio élégiaque'
Noé Inui Vassilis Varvaresos Benedikt Kloeckner
First introduction: We know Rachmaninov mainly as a composer of virtuoso piano music. For him, chamber music was rather the medium for personal outpourings. So too in this Trio élégiaque. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the reason. Nevertheless, it is a gem whose music fully covers the melancholic charge of the title.
PAUZE
Pianotrio in f, op. 65
Noé Inui Vassilis Varvaresos Benedikt Kloeckner
  • I. Allegro ma non troppo
  • II. Allegro grazioso
  • III. Poco adagio
  • IV. Finale. Allegro con brio
First introduction: Dvorák composed masterly solo concertos for piano, violin and cello. In his Piano Trio he combines these instruments into an emotional and intense composition. Disappointment about the limited effect of his operas, the death of his mother and the friendship with Brahms. It can all be heard in Dvorák's dark tinted Piano Trio on. 65. This makes it one of Dvorák's most personal and deeply lived compositions
