Dudok Quartet Amsterdam

These four enthusiastic musicians like to take things a step further, where others stop. No wonder that the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam is also one of the most appealing and versatile string quartets internationally. In 2018 the foursome received the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.

Haydn's masterstroke

Go on an adventure with the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam! In the Edesche Concert Hall, this ensemble surprises with not one, but two string quartets by Haydn! Why is that? With these masterpieces Haydn set the tone for all string quartets to be composed afterwards. With Haydn, the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam touches every emotional corner of the string quartet

Gripping Mendelssohn

Mendelssohn's loaded Sixth String Quartet. 80 - his last - is a worthy addition to the programme. The piece is surrounded with mysteries. The otherwise optimistic Mendelssohn struck a completely different note in this string quartet. Was it an in memoriam for his deceased sister, or did the composer perhaps feel his own end approaching? Anyway, it's music that needs to be heard, the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam believes.

The Dudok Quartet Amsterdam consists of:

  • Judith van Driel, first violin
  • Marleen Wester, second violin
  • David Faber, cello
  • Marie-Louise de Jong, viola
