Debussy and Satie
For Lavinia it all started with Debussy's music. For the young Lavinia his pieces were the gems of the existing harp repertoire. Lavinia shows that she also knows what to do with Debussy's piano music on the harp in the well-known piece Claire de lune. Under her hands it sounds like it's always been a harp piece. The same goes for the atmospheric Gnossiennes of Debussy's contemporary Érik Satie. Although more than a century old, it is also very much music of today, because the pieces often appear in movies.
Ludovico Einaudi
Through the music of Debussy and Satie, Lavinia Meijer ended up with the Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi. Just like Lavinia's other idol Philip Glass, Einaudi wrote little for the harp, but he immediately became enthusiastic when he heard the harp versions Lavinia had made of his music. Dream away on the atmospheric sounds of Einaudi's greatest hits including Nuvole bianche.
