Strijkkwartet in F, KV 590
Dudok Quartet Amsterdam

The last string quartet Mozart composed (though he didn't know it at the time) contains everything that makes his music unique. It has flair, emotional depth, humor and it challenges both player and listener.

Dudok Quartet Amsterdam
  • I. Allegretto
  • II. Moderato con moto
  • III. Allegro non troppo
  • IV. Adagio (attacca)

Shostakovich's Third String Quartet can be listened to as an autobiographical war story. For Shostakovich, the piece was a kind of musical reflection of his experiences during World War II.

The highly successful Dudok Quartet covers just about every corner of the string quartet. The quartet does so with verve and with a mission. The four musicians want nothing more than to show, see and feel that music touches! What better way to do that than with pieces in which composers committed their deepest feelings to paper? Enjoy three intimate quartets by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich; music with a surprisingly personal touch. "An intense listening experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat," wrote The Strad.
