Wibi Soerjadi plays a classical programme and work of his own
"I went on tour with it for years."
The Edesche Concert Hall suits Wibi Soerjadi very well. He is very curious how the musical journey there will go. Especially because it will be a reunion with the magnificent concert grand piano, the Bösendorfer Imperial 290. "I have exactly that kind of grand piano at home," says Wibi. "I know this Bösendorfer like no other. For years I went on tour with it, all over the world. I've recorded a lot of CDs with it. But in 2008 I said goodbye to my 'Bösie' on stage. At least he's still in my study right now, as a souvenir." The grand piano and the pianist are still connected.Musical Surprise dinner
The concert on October 26th will be different from a regular concert. "I've come up with a new concept," Soerjadi says enthusiastically. "It's gonna be kind of a surprise dinner. I don't tell you in advance what I'm going to play, but I announce the pieces myself, or tell you something about them afterwards. If you know in advance what's on the menu, you already think: what would the dessert taste like? It's not like that now. That's how I take people into the program. At the salon concerts at my house it worked very well. It provides a different experience!"
