virtuosos like Tartini, Paganini and Kreisler were not only great violinists, they also wrote fantastic music. Lisa Jacobs and Ksenia Kouzmenko take you back to the illustrious past of these great masters of the violin. Paganini's story goes that the women swooned in the bushes when he played the violin. According to Giuseppe Tartini, he composed his 'Devil's Vibration Sonata' after a dream in which he heard the devil playing. In short, a violin recital full of light-hearted virtuosity and unbridled passion.

Lisa Jacobs

"Otherworldly beauty" (AD), "Ideal combination of passion, lyricism and virtuosity" (Listen), "Sensual allure" (BBC Music Magazine); critics tumble over each other in superlatives when it comes to violinist Lisa Jacobs. At home and abroad, the top violinist is praised for her passionate, compelling and virtuoso playing. At the age of 17 Lisa made her successful debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and since then she has played in all the major concert halls in the Netherlands and around the world. In the Edesche Concert Hall, Lisa Jacobs and celebrated Belarusian pianist Ksenia Kouzmenko beat the

"The violin is really my buddy"
"In the end, what I want is to make people happy. That I see a smile on their faces, or a tear. Like when I played a violin solo last year at the National Remembrance Day on Dam Square. Afterwards I got nice e-mails from people who didn't like classical music at all, but were still very touched. Hitting people at such unexpected moments is a great pleasure."
(Read the interview with Lisa Jacobs.)

Ksenia Kouzmenko

Ksenia graduated with a gold medal from the National Music Lycée, and with distinction from the National Music Academy of Belarus. After that she studied with Naum Grubert in The Hague and took master classes with illustrious pianists such as György Sándor, Lazar Berman, Earl Wild, Charles Rosen and composer György Kurtág. She also won prizes for piano accompaniment at important international competitions. The jury report of the Tromp Competition praises Ksenia Kouzmenko as a convincing "performer, whose elegant gesture is always at the service of the music. She dares to take risks and drags the listener along on her musical voyages of discovery"

The press about Lisa's latest CD:

"Virtuosity, flawlessness, timing, articulation, syntax, purity, passion... Her playing is of an almost extraterrestrial beauty and excels in controlled tone formation and a delicate vibrato" (Reformatorisch Dagblad)
