Anna Vinnitskaya

At university Anna Vinnitskaya had a little brother dead, she tells in an interview. What did motivate her? Playing concerts! Since winning the first prize of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, she has been doing nothing else. Worldwide, the most important piano stages are crowding out to get her inside their walls. Even the press can't stop talking about her impressive piano playing. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung hits the nail on the head and praises Anna Vinnitskaya's "technical perfection and lyrical lyricism" Qualities that are very useful in the music of Chopin, Debussy and Prokofiev.

Always those Russians

Anna Vinnitskaya, as a born Russian, has a lot to do with the music of her homeland. To the magazine 'Pianist' she says: "Russian music is in my blood, I immediately understand how to handle it, how to play it and how to get the sound I want" In the Edesche Concert Hall she plays Prokofiev's 'Fourth Piano Sonata'. At the Bösendorfer Imperial this will undoubtedly be a special experience. Anna says: "The basses and the low register are so rich. The basses on these wings are so deep!"

For all the works in Anna Vinnitskaya's repertoire, she never really gets tired of them. "You keep discovering new things. It's a never-ending road, which I like to walk. You get desperate on the way, but it's beautiful work. Who knows, in twenty years I might say: now I've achieved what I want, now it sounds like I've got it in my head."

Chopins Preludes

One of the highlights on the program are Chopins 24 Preludes . A prelude is literally a 'foreplay', but Chopin does not expand on his starting story. All preludes stand on their own, with diverse characters and musical atmospheres. Delicate and passionate, just like Vinnitskaya's piano playing!

The masterly pianist Anna Vinnitskaya can rarely be heard in the Netherlands. Luckily she makes an exception for the Bösendorfer Imperial of the Edesche Concert Hall. Anna Vinnitskaya has a special connection with the music of Sergey Prokofiev. She won the famous Queen Elisabeth Competition 2007 and it also earned her the ECHO Klassik award in 2011. In the Edesche Concert Hall she connects Prokofiev's Fourth Piano Sonata with picturesque preludes by Chopin and Debussy.
