Like a gentle slumber after a beautiful dream - this is how the songs and organ pieces of this concert sound. Organist Jetty Podt and soprano Francine van der Heijden take you on a journey through the warm and sensual sounds of French Romanticism. Vocal gems such as the song 'Après un rêve' and the 'Pie Jesu', both by Fauré, are juxtaposed with organ classics such as César Franck's 'Prélude, fugue et variation' and 'Litanies' by Jehan Alain. This music culminates in one of the best-known pieces by the Dutch composer Hendrik Andriessen: 'Magna res est amor'.
